The river Otter passes through and a bridge connects with a path that runs along the length of the river if you fancy exploring a little further, playing pooh sticks or discovering the tumbling weir. Take a picnic to enjoy on the grass or take the short stroll to the child friendly cafes in the town - The Coffee Bank is particularly great with a beautiful play area for young ones and good much needed coffee for parents.

Cycling
Head to Haldon for a variety of off road cycling opportunities. There is so much to do here you can easily fill up a few days enjoying the different routs. Or enjoy the views following the Exe Estuary linking Exmouth, Exeter and Dawlish. It's smooth well maintained and suitable for all ages and abilities though some sections join up with or go near roads which will require a bit of maturity to navigate safely. It is easy enough to plan a good stretch that avoids roads entirely for peace of mind with younger cyclists.
